SCREEN BATTLES - Short Film Competition

AQO Sports & Entertainment is proud to announce “Screen Battles” short film competition opening from 01st May 2023.This competition is eligible for all emerging filmmakers amidst age groups who are aspiring to showcase their talent and creativity in an open platform.
Theme
Films can be done under any theme.
Awards
• Cash Price of LKR 30,000 will be awarded to the registered candidate who produced the best short film through judging; and winner will be featured on the AQOSE news and social media pages as the best Screen Battles short film.
• All participants will receive certificates.
Eligibility Criteria
• This competition is open to anyone.
• Professional and amateur filmmakers can apply.
• AQOSE has the right to disqualify any submission if it violates standards of decency and is not aligned to the goals of the competition and that of the organization.
• Entries containing unauthorized content will be disqualified.
Film specifications
• Short films may be in any form (fiction, documentary, animation etc.)
• Shot with any device or camera set-up (in MP4 format, Full HD (1080p) or 1920X1820p).
• The size of the short film being sent for the competition should not be more than 2 GB.
Legal and copyright issues -Terms and conditions
• By submitting the short film, you acknowledge that you are the sole copyright owner of the work. It must be an original shot, created and/or taken by you. Participants will be disqualified if they do not adhere to this rule.
• The filmmaker will be credited wherever the short film is used.
• The organizer reserves in perpetuity the non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, make public, publicly transmit, display, distribute entries with the credit titles on websites and public social networking service accounts, in filming exhibitions, and in the facilities, it owns, both during and after the competition.
• The filmmaker agrees to take responsibility for any legal issue arising out of the work and all costs that could be incurred in the process.
• It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that only they are authorized to submit the entry for the Award Scheme. If the film is chosen for an award, the applicant will be the only one to get it. The organization will, in no way, be responsible for any dispute arising out of it.
Competition criteria
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Relevance of the short film to the topic
2. Ability to reach the audience.
3. Creativity
4. Plot
5. Characters
6. Action, Pacing and Structure
7. Originality
Submission
• Every short film should have a name.
• Films may be in any language or have no dialogue at all, but English subtitles are required if any language is used.
• The duration of the short film should not be less than 3 minutes or more than 6 minutes.
• Each film should depict its title and credits, including the names of the cast.
• All entries must be uploaded to Google Drive (with view permission) and link should be submitted on aqose.com performance before (28th May 2023.)
• The short film you submit must be accompanied by a script
• The applicant whose film is shortlisted for the award will require to send the script along with the storyboard depicting the title of the film, brief theme in English and names of the main crew, only in soft copy
• Entries received after 28th May, 2023, will not be entertained.
